BGB 900. 1 A person who is registered as the owner of a plot of land in the Land Register without having acquired ownership acquires ownership if the registration has existed for thirty years and he has had the plot of land in proprietary possession in this period . The thirty-year period is calculated in the same way as the period for acquiring a movable thing by prescription . The running of the period is suspended as long as an objection to the accuracy of the registration is entered in the Land Register .

The period of possession is calculated in the same way as the period for acquiring a movable thing by prescription . Where the owner is registered in the Land Register , the public notice procedure is admissible only if he is dead or missing and a registration in the Land Register that required the approval of the owner has not been made for thirty years .
